Bride and Bridal Party Makeup Prep
To help your makeup apply beautifully and last all day, please review the following before wedding day:
Leading up to wedding day:
-
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!: Drink plenty of water leading up to the wedding. Hydrated skin makes a huge difference in how makeup wears.
-
Avoid Harsh Skin Treatments: Please avoid chemical peels, microneedling, laser treatments, or trying any new skincare products within the week leading up to the wedding.
-
Brows: Plan to have your brows groomed before the wedding day. Well-shaped brows help create a polished look and allow for smoother makeup application. If you choose to have your brows waxed, threaded, or shaped, please schedule your appointment at least 48 hours before the wedding to allow any redness or irritation to subside. If you are getting a brow lamination, especially if you are new to them, aim for a week prior, sometimes the relaxer can cause chemical burns to the skin, and we don’t want any peeling skin on your wedding day!
-
Spray Tans: If you're planning on getting a spray tan, I recommend scheduling it 2 days before the wedding. This allows the color to fully develop and any excess bronzer to wash off.
The Night Before:
-
Skin: Cleanse your face and apply your regular moisturizer before bed.
-
Lips: Exfoliate your lips the night before the wedding and apply lip moisturizer (I love Laniege or Burts Bees!) to ensure a smooth lipstick application. Any lip scrub will do, or you can exfoliate using a toothbrush and gently scrubbing your lips.
Wedding Morning:
-
Skin prep: Arrive with a clean face, teeth brushes and your normal moisturizer applied. Avoid any oils! I'll take care of all skin prep and priming before applying your makeup.
-
What to Wear: Please wear a button-down shirt, robe, zip up, or another top that can be easily removed so your makeup (and hair!) doesn’t get ruined.
-
Brush your teeth: prior to make up application
-
Timing: Please plan to arrive with the entire bridal party, even if your makeup appointment isn't first! While it may seem easier for the first few people to arrive early and have others come later, having everyone together helps create a fun, relaxed atmosphere and keeps the morning running on schedule. This also allows me to stay on time and ensures no one's appointment is delayed.
-
Dress Steaming: please be mindful of dress steaming in the area hair and glam will be. Too much steam in the air can effect hair and makeup application.
I can't wait to spend the morning with all of you and help you look and feel your absolute best!
